ELECTRONIC/RESISTOR COLOR CODING (Part 2)

As you can see on the table above, there are different values under different functions.

Under Significant Values, it corresponds to the numbers from 1 to 9. The Significant Value are used as Significant Figures depending on the bond used.

On a 3 and 4 Color Band Resistor, the first two colors are the significant values. The first significant value from the left is used as tens while the second significant value is used as ones.

Example: First Color: RED = 2 - This is the first significant digit.
Second Color RED = 2 -  This is the second significant digit

To write the significant digit from the example, it only goes like this:

                Significant Value:  22

On a 5 and 6 Color Band Resistor, the first three colors are the significant values. The first significant value from the left is used as hundredths, the second significant value is used as tens and the third for ones.

Example: First Color: RED = 2 - This is the first significant digit.
Second Color RED = 2 -  This is the second significant digit
Third Color RED = 2 -  This is the third significant digit

To write the significant digit from the example, it only goes like this:

                Significant Value:  222

The multiplier is only a value used to multiply to the significant digit to obtain thee resistor's final value. As a technique that I learned, The number of the zeroes on the multiplier is the same as numbers in significant values.

Example: Multiplier is color blue
Significant Value is 22  : (just add 6 zeroes to the given significant figure.)

                Final Value = 22000000 ohms

I have posted how to compute for the tolerance on my earlier posts, so you can just check it for other clarification.
